Release Date: 2025-03-21

The newest version of icastGo and icastEvent includes updates that make organizing and attending events easier, faster, and more flexible. From smarter targeting to better mobile support and higher video quality, this release helps create a more seamless experience for everyone.

New Enhancements for Webcasts and Events

  • Targeted Invitations
Organizers can now send email invitations based on activity labels. This means messages can be tailored to specific groups—such as participants in paid sessions—making communication more relevant and effective.
  • Speaker Visibility by Label
A new label-based setting allows organizers to control who can see each speaker. If a speaker is linked to a label, only participants with access to that label will see them in the interface. This helps with private or segmented sessions.
  • Voting Setup Improvements
When creating a new voting series, the “can vote” setting is now selected by default to reduce errors and simplify setup.

Optimized Performance and Usability

  • Better Mobile Layouts
The webcast layout now adjusts better on small screens. Interface elements like video checkboxes and language selection remain visible, even in self-view mode. Horizontal scrolling is minimized, and some elements may overlap videos slightly to show more of the screen when space is tight.
  • Archive Upgrades
The upload/download file size limit has increased from 5GB to 25GB to support higher-quality content.
  • Smarter Language Detection
If a language is specified in the event URL, it will now take priority over browser or stored preferences. This ensures users see the right language when following a shared link.

Refinements and Fixes

  • Improved Email Delivery

Event access emails now show the correct start time for activities. To improve deliverability, formatting was updated to remove lock icons, replace buttons with

simple links, and reduce the chance of messages being marked as spam. Email headers were also updated to support unsubscribe and auto-reply handling.

  • System and Backend Fixes
    • Fixed server errors when editing system notifications

    • Restored metadata (e.g. browser info) in support tickets
    • Pagination and ordering fixed in video selection modals
    • Admins can now filter sessions by plan type (Enterprise vs. Self-Serve) in the backend

With version 8.7.0, icastGo and icastEvent continue to deliver a smooth and flexible event experience. Whether you’re running a large webcast or a multi-day hybrid event, these updates are designed to give you more control with less complexity.
